IN HONOR OF DIANA CORTEZ YAÑEZ

Diana Cortez Yanez

We are deeply saddened to share that Diana Cortez Yañez, a cherished and dedicated United Survivors volunteer and beloved friend of ours, has passed after a medical emergency associated with diabetes. Diana informed our efforts as a multiple suicide attempt survivor and culture. She spearheaded our first-ever webinar series in Spanish, serving as both a lived experience speaker and host.

She conducted research with us on the experiences of Spanish-speaking construction workers and assisted with translating materials into Spanish. She proudly shared her story to help others know they can live through suicidal intensity as she did:

Diana brought expertise, spirit, humor, and authenticity to our meetings and events. We will never be able to fill the void your absence leaves, yet we will continue our work in your honor Diana. We send love, health, and healing to your family, friends, and all who loved you. We know you not only beautifully touched — but also helped save — numerous lives.
